"The Computer Restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error" while installation of windows Operating system (Through Windows Deployment Services - WDS) 

 

 

Cause :

The Most Commonly caused by an interruption of the power supply such as power failure or pressing restart during the final stage of windows installation process.

Steps to Fix this Issue : - 

When the error message appears kindly press "Shift + F10" to open the command Prompt

Type Regedit to open the registry editor.

  

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Setup/Status/ChildCompletion

Now Find REG_DWORD Key called "setup.exe" and edit/change the value from 1 to 3

Now exit the registry editor and click on OK on the error message, your computer will restart and continue on the windows setup process as normal without re-formatting again...
